DJ Stief
DJ Stief, the Resident artist of Artemis of Aberdeen discovered his rare talent at a very early age, winning his first prize at the age of six.
DJs’ style is photorealism and captures the sensuality of the human form. You have to look twice to assure yourself that it is a drawing not a photo that you are viewing. He works in a variety of mediums: oils, French Pastel and German White Charcoal.
DB Magazine has described him as being able to "mimic the realist function of the camera and offer a depth of textural eroticism not even the hottest spread in black and white magazine could summon up… Stief’s careful play of light and shadow communicates the same sense of seaminess in society which early noir works did of 1950s America."
More of an artisan than an artist you can view his ceramics, sculptures, oils and drawings.
He strives to be at the forefront of innovation in the development of art, but is equally as comfortable with historical techniques and can recreate the style of the masters.
DJ is available for commissions and can be contacted via Artemis of Aberdeen.
